Dear Parents and Guardians;

Summer is almost here! In the past several children have had schedule changes due to summer camp, vacation, etc. If you could please let me know whether your child/children will be not attending classes, it would be greatly appreciated.

Even though cold and flu season should be over, there is the possibility for summer colds, stomach bugs, etc. It is best if your child is free from fevers, vomiting, and/or diarrhea for 24 hours before returning to class.

Children’s clothing should be clean and not what they have worn all day, whether playing outside or at summer camp. I realize this might seem like an inconvenience. Maybe keeping a spare set of shorts and tee shirts in your car could help. They can use the changing room when they get to class. Please remember gis should be washed after each use.

• Sleeved tee shirts and shorts that come to their knee are best to provide comfort and help to keep them modest while grappling.

• Hair should be tied back to help from getting caught.

• Nails should be trimmed to prevent scratching.

Please make sure that face, hands & feet are clean. If you are pressed for time, I will have wipes available at the dojo.

As you know we celebrate children’s promotion every 3 months. June 22nd will be the next celebration. September will be the following. Children need to be present during July – August to advance to the next rank for September.

Thank you for your cooperation. All of this really helps in the prevention or spreading of germs as well as teaching respect for ourselves and our team mates.

Please don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions/concerns.

Sincerely,

Sensei Candace
